Coffee Morning for Share and Play
A Coffee Morning for Share and Play and held on Saturday the 17th June was organised by members of St Andrews church. It was a social and financial success with £205 contributing to towards the purchasing of items needed for a child's sensory room at the Youth Centre. A big thank you to all who baked and helped on the day.
The idea behind the sensory room is to provide a play environment where parents and members of the community can take a child to play and develop using equipment designed for children who have additional needs.
The church member behind the scheme, Danny Beaven, says "we have children with a variety of disorders, some who are not mobile and others on the autistic spectrum"
The closest sensory room to the one that is being targeted for Feniton is 12 miles away and for parents with children who have conditions where travelling, especially on public transport difficult, would find the local facility extremely beneficial . The Share and Play group meet at the Youth Centre every Wednesday from 10 am, they welcome anyone who would like to pop in and find out more to just come along says leader, Danny Beaven.
